CAPE ELIZABETH 7, GARDINER 1:  Philip Tarling had a total of three goals, two on the power play, and an assist to lead the way as the Capers (8-0) scored seven consecutive goals to power past the host Tigers (0-4) at the Ice Vault in Hallowell.

Cam Bigelow opened the scoring on a feed from Jared Shaw for Gardiner but Cape Elizabeth roared back with a goal from Jackson Woods and a pair from Tarling as they carried a 3-1 lead to the first intermission.

Ryan Collins scored his first of the game from Tarling and Andrew Carroll scored with less than a second to play in the second period as the Capers extended their lead to 5-1 heading to the final 15 minutes.

Tarling and Carroll rounded out the scoring in the third.

Quinn Veregge had 42 saves for the Tigers, Peter Haber stopped 12 shots for Cape Elizabeth.
