Brunswick, senior

Highlights: Kaplan, who scored eight goals and had four assists while playing center back, anchored a defense that posted 14 shutouts. "He´s the type of individual who will have success at whatever level he goes to," Brunswick Coach Peter Gardner said. "He puts a lot of effort into soccer. He´s got great skills and an outstanding knowledge of the game."
Marcus Golbas
Cape Elizabeth, junior
Midfield
Highlights: A key offensive force for his team, Golbas scored six goals and had 12 assists to lead the Capers to the
Western Class A semifinals. "Almost every time we step on the field he´s one of the best athletes out there," Cape Elizabeth
Coach Ben Raymond said. "He´s very quick and a very dangerous player for us on the outside."
Tony Yeboah
Deering, senior
Forward
Highlights: A four-year starter, Yeboah scored 31 goals and had eight assists to lead the Rams to the Western Class A
semifinals. "Physically, he dominates," Deering Coach Andy LeFebvre said. "But mentally he has an edge, too. He can really
take over a game. When he decides he´s going to do something, he just goes ahead and does it."
Alex Emeigh
Ellsworth, senior

Highlights: Emeigh anchored a defense that allowed two goals in three Eastern Class B tournament games. "He´s
been a starting sweeper for three years and really is the quarterback of the defense," Ellsworth Coach Brian Higgins said.
"He´s very accurate with both feet and is very difficult to beat one on one."
Joel Mundy
Gorham, senior
Forward
Highlights: A four-year varsity player, Mundy scored 26 goals to lead the Rams to their first appearance in a Western
Class A final in more than 20 years. "He´s a very skilled player," Gorham Coach Tim King said. "He´s didn´t rack up a ton of
goals against weak teams. He scored in nearly every single game."
Gabe Hoffman-Johnson
Falmouth, sophomore
Forward
Highlights: Hoffman-Johnson scored a team-high 18 goals and had seven assists to lead to the Yachtsmen to their
second consecutive Class B state championship. "Gabe is an exciting player to watch," Falmouth Coach Dave Halligan said.
"He makes things happen on the field. He sees the field real well."
Oliver Blum
Greely, senior
Goalkeeper
Highlights: In 18 games, Blum allowed six goals. He posted 14 shutouts for the Class A state champs to bring his
career total to 25. "He is a technically gifted goalkeeper who excelled in the big games for us," Greely Coach Mike Andreasen
said. "The bigger the game, the better Ollie played."
Macgill Eldridge
Greely, senior
Back
Highlights: While usually drawing his team´s toughest defensive assignment, Eldridge led the Rangers with eight
assists. "Once we moved him back to defense, the team progressed into a more confident unit," Greely Coach Mike Andreasen
said. "Macgill may be the best attacking defender that I have ever coached."
Taylor Gorman
North Yarmouth Academy, senior
Midfield
Highlights: Gorman scored a team-high 14 goals and had seven assists to lead the Panthers their fourth consecutive
appearance in the Western Class C semifinals. "He´s like a coach´s dream player," North Yarmouth Academy Coach Josh
Muscadin said. "He gives you 110 percent, and he makes the players around him a lot better. He´s not a selfish player."
Cody Zane
North Yarmouth Academy, senior

Highlights: A transfer from Mt. View High School in Thorndike, Zane stepped into the NYA lineup and anchored the
defense at sweeper. "Normally, he´s a midfielder," North Yarmouth Academy Coach Josh Muscadin said. "But I needed
someone of his skills to solidify the back and get the ball up front. Instead of clearing the ball, he usually distributed it."
Steven Chase
Greely, junior
Midfield
Highlights: The versatile Chase played a number of positions and led the Rangers in scoring despite spending only half
the season at striker. "He possesses tremendous field vision and attacks and defends with equal ease," Greely Coach Mike
Andreasen said. "His array of individual ball moves and his superb first touch enable him to escape even the toughest of high-
pressure situations."
Coach of The Year
Dave Halligan
Falmouth
Highlights: Under Halligan, the Yachtsmen have won the Class B state championship in six of the past eight seasons.
Starting in 1996, Falmouth has won eight state titles. "We have a solid youth program," Halligan said. "We just provide an
opportunity for the kids to play soccer and have fun, and we´ve been blessed with some great players."
