Key newcomers: Arika Brochu (So., freestyle); Kaitlin Casoria (Fr., freestyle, backstroke); Abby Silsby (Fr., freestyle/breaststroke); Faith Emery (Jr., freestyle); Gabby Taylor (Jr., freestyle).
Outlook: A year after a deep Cony team finished fifth in Class A, the Rams are without stars Victoria Weber and Phoebe Campbell, who graduated. Petersen finished fifth in the 50 free at the KVAC championship, while Harwood will also be counted on to score in the sprint freestyle and breaststroke events.
Coach’s comment: “This will be a year filled with growing pains as the Lady Rams look to match last year’s KVAC and state meet performances. The girls have a strong work ethic and I look for them to surprise a few competitors this season. McNeff, Petersen and Harwood should give teams immense difficulty in trying to match up with them.”
