Top returners: Arthur Conover (Sr., I.M., freestyle, butterfly), Daeghan Elkin (So., freestyle, breaststroke)
Key newcomers: Ben Thibert (Fr., freestyle), Kyle Perkins (Fr., freestyle).
Outlook: Conover holds all of Messalonskee’s school records but the 50 freestyle, which he hopes to capture this season. Last season he won the 200 and 500 free at the Class A meet and was the New England champion in the 500 freestyle. He came within six one-hundreths of a second from winning the Class A 200 IM as well. Also, Elkin qualified for the state meet in the 200 freestyle a year ago. Thibert should provide valuable points in sprint freestyle and relay events.
Coach’s comment: “The boys have been training well. They’re putting in lots of hard work and its going to be important to see that progress in their times. I think its very important for us to get off on the right foot and set the momentum for the season.”
