Key newcomers: Vika Arkhipova (Sr. Exchange Student-Russia. freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly); Jess Greeley (Fr. freestyle ); Courtney Colford (Fr. freestyle); Sierra Hopkins (Fr. freestyle).
Outlook: The program has shown impressive growth in the three years that Marcia Jones ran the program. Coach Setchell will take over the program this season and try to keep that momentum going. He has three years of high school swimming coaching experience in Rutland, Vt. and a collegiate swimming career to draw upon. Arkhipova, an exchange student, has been very impressive early on and will be competitive in anything she swims according to her coach. Jones and Botelho are also solid pieces of the puzzle.
Coach’s comment: “Once again we have a great group of girls with some impressive talent coming in. Our focus is on making the little things better to help us in the big picture. If things go the way they should we will have a very successful season both individually and as a team.”
