Coach: Matt Hanley (13th season)
Last season: 7th in Class B
Top returners: Daniel Del Gallo (Sr., 145), Mitchell Chesley (Sr., 195), Chandler Wieczorek (So., 106), Hamish Thornton (So., 182)
Key newcomers: Peter Del Gallo (Fr., 113), Joshua Farrin (Fr., 126), Orion Seraph (Fr., 285), Jake Truman (So., 171), Andrew Doody-Veilleux (So., 220), Zach Hicks (Sr., 120)
Outlook: Senior Daniel Del Gallo, who became the first Gardiner wrestler to reach the New England Championship finals last season, leads the squad. His brother, Peter, a freshman, will be a force to be reckoned with, according to Hanley. Mitchell Chesley won the Western regional last season.
Coach’s comment: “This year will be like most years at Gardiner. The wrestlers we have are good and will be ready at the end of the year. This group is already working together very well. We should be tough in dual meets.”
