Coach: Scott Preble (13th season)
Last season: 9th in Eastern Class A
Top returners: Jon Wilson (Sr., 160), Jacob Nichols (So., 285), Zach McFarlin (Jr., 182), Jonathon Crocker (Jr., 132)
Key newcomers: Kolin Fraser (Fr., 106), Bradley Wilson (Fr., 160), Hunter Glidden (Fr., 285)
Outlook: Nokomis has made steady progress over the past several years. One of the season’s highlights was a sixth place finish at the KVAC tournament. Zach McFarlin reached the Class A championship finals, finishing second. Nichols was a state qualifier. The Warriors are young, with only one senior with varsity experience (Jon Wilson) on the squad. Coaches comment: “The Nokomis wrestling program is still in a rebuilding stage. Last year our team had nine wrestlers, this year we have 15. We’re looking to be a strong, competitive team for the future. Our schedule is a tough one, but we will be up to the challenge by regionals in January.”
