Outlook: James Blanchette won the Class C state title at 106 pounds last season. The Mustangs have four other state qualifiers on this season’s squad. Coach Richards likes what he sees in newcomer Anthony Barnard who wrestled in North Carolina before coming to Maine. Richards sees a great deal of potential in his team.
Coach’s comment: “I view this season with guarded optimism. If I can put every kid on the mat that should be on the mat, we can more than hold our own against solid KVAC competition and could probably pull off a top 3 finish or better at the C West Regionals. Thats best case scenario, but if I can keep all the kids on the mat, I will be happy!”
