Coach: Paula Doughty (29th season)
Last season: 17-1, Class A state champions
Top returners: B Makayla Hancock (Sr.), F Mallory Hancock (Sr.), M Liz Noddin (Sr.), G Megan Hancock (Sr.), B Becca McCarty (Sr.), F Becky Pratt (Sr.), F Kati Washburn (Sr.), B Renee Despres (Sr.), B Noelle Hancock (Jr.), B Corinne Anderson (Jr.), F/M Nicole Sevey (So.), F Jessica Skillings (So.), B Mikayla Fitzmaurice (So.)
Key newcomers: M Gabrielle Martineau (Jr.), M/B Emily Rendell (Jr.), F Tatyana Schnedier (So.), F Haley Holt (So.), M Sarah Finnemore (Fr.), B Mikayla Bolduc (Fr.), F Makaela Michonski (Fr.), G Shelby Obert (Fr.)
Outlook: Skowhegan has more top-notch players in the Hancock family than some have on their entire roster. The Indians also have quality players with different last names, and are again one of the favorites to win the state title. Doughty said the team jelled in the offseason.
Coach’s comment: “I would say right now we’re just adjusting from turf to grass. They all want to play on turf. But we’re on grass, so we’ve got to deal with it.”
