Valley Girls Basketball
|Coach: Mike Rowe (2nd season)
Last season: 5-14, lost in Western Class D prelims
Top returners: G Sydney Vincent (Sr., 5-7), C Kimberly Bergeron (Sr., 5-9), G Kirsten Mathieu (Jr., 5-7), F Kelly Bergeron (Jr., 5-4), G Teagan Laweryson (Jr., 5-7), F Meaghan Hunnewell (Jr., 5-8), F Kyla White (So., 5-6), G Jacylyn Beatrice (So., 5-0)
Key newcomers: G/F Meghan Medlin (Sr., 5-7), F Courtney Mills (So., 5-8), G Amanda Landry (So., 5-4), G Charlie Savoy (Fr., 5-7), F Dalayne Davis (Fr., 5-8), G Jordan Belanger (Fr., 5-0), F Kelly Bigelow (Fr., 5-6)
Outlook: There are 15 players, which is impressive for any Class D school, but four have never played organized basketball. Still, there are several good returning players and Rowe feels everything is clicking better so far this season.
Coach’s comment: “I’m very cautiously optimistic for this season. The biggest thing for me is they have to be better decision-makers. If we do that, we can do the things that I think that we can do on the court.”
