Coach: Rick Amero (15th season), Tom Menendez (8th season) Last season: Class C champions, 3rd in Western C, 2nd in MVC Top returners: Elliot Kahl (Sr.), Kevin Desmond (Jr.), Tyler Guzzman (Jr.), Patrick McInnis (Jr.), Matt Bryant (So.), Patrick Riley (Sr.) Key newcomers: Sam Crawford (Sr.), David Kananowitz (Sr.), Zeke Merrill (Jr.), Henry Talbot (Jr.), Matt McInnis (So.) Outlook: Monmouth returns four of its top seven runners from last fall. This Mustang team has the potential to be competitive again and has put the miles in over the summer according to their coaches. Menendez believes the key to a title run like last year is to stay healthy through mid-October. Coach’s comment: “We are looking for our veterans to step up and lead our new runners. If this happens, we can be competitive.”
