Top returners: Tyler Horsford (Sr.), Dylan Thombs (Jr.), Ben Bailey (Jr.), Marques Houston (Jr.), Stewart Buzzell (Jr.), Alex Turbide (So.), Hannon Sanford (So.).
Key newcomers: Luke Thombs (Fr.), Nick Sanborn (Fr.).
Outlook: Like the Mustang girls team, the Monmouth boys will rely on a number of solid runners like Bailey, Buzzell and Horsford to make a run up the MVC ladder. Monmouth’s top runner coming into the season, Dylan Thombs, suffered a stress fracture in the latter half of the season, but is running healthy so far this fall. Menendez only has nine runners to utilize but he is pleased with the depth of the team.
Coach’s Comment: “They did the work this summer which should help avoid some of the injury problems. The numbers are down but the attitude is great. Now to change dreams into reality.”
