Coach: Sara Rushton (1st season)
Last season: Not enough swimmers to score as a team
Top returners: Erzsebet Nagy (Sr., freestyle, butterfly, I.M.), Bethany Rioux (Sr., freestyle), Julia Pershkan (Sr., freestyle, I.M.)
Key newcomers: Kassidy Towne (Jr., freestyle), Kaitlin Overlock (Sr., freestyle), Leah Dudley (Fr., freestyle), Alex Bevier (Fr., I.M., freestyle), Jesse Pomeroy (Sr., freestyle), Sawyer Letourneau (Sr., backstroke)
Outlook: Despite a lack of swimmers, Lawrence boasts one of the areas top swimmers in Nagy, who won this fall’s Class A cross country girls title and will look to transfer that athletic dominance into the pool. Last year at the KVAC A championship, Nagy placed fifth in the 100 butterfly and seventh in the 200 IM. Pershken is also a formidable swimmer and will be looked to improve on her times from last season. A larger turnout this season also gives the Bulldogs an excellent chance to score relay points. Lawrence practices with Messalonskee and is coached by Messalonskee coaches Rushton and Tom Sheridan.
Coach’s comment: “I am looking to Erzy and Julia for their leadership and experience. There are a bunch of newcomers to the team who are enthusiastic about their roles and will benefit from training with our veteran swimmers."
