Outlook: The Dragons will have the 6-7 Smith in the middle and four guards around him. The team has strong chemistry that should lead to a tournament berth again. Smith has the potential to average double figures in points and rebounds. Scarponi is in his third year as a starter and will be counted on for scoring and defense. The Dragons were ranked fifth in a preseason poll of KVAC coaches. “If we play together, we should be in the mix,” said Hanson.
