Coach: Don Beckwith (7th season)
Last season: 9-2-3 in Western Class B
Top returners: MF David Clough, F Dakota Duplissie (Jr.), MF/G Sam Poulin
(Sr.), F Mike Knowlton (Sr.), MF Tyler DeAngelis (Jr.), MF Keegen Ballard
(Sr.), MF Jon Findley (Jr.), MF Walker Thompson (Jr.), D Greg Goucher (Jr.)
Key newcomers: D Zack Elwell (Jr.), D Gabe Giroux (So.), MF Harry Lanphear
(Jr.)
Outlook: The Black Bears have a strong feeder system and shouldn’t miss a
beat despite some key graduation losses. They suffered a blow in preseason
when Sam Poulin, who was slated to be goalie, broke his hand and Beckwith
is looking for a keeper until Poulin can return to the net. Clough is one
of the top all-around players in the conference while Duplissie is strong
up front.
Coach’s comment: “If we get some consistency, we could be pretty good. I
think we have the potential to score more goals than we have in the past.”
