Wells, well enough
David Wells is apparently ready to start his first game of the season. The pitcher was placed on the DL to start the year to recover from off-season surgery.
Although everyone knows he wasn't that hurt. The Sox simply did not want to use a five-man rotation with the amount of "off" days that were made available.
Tonight's game should be interesting; Wells hasn't faired very well vs. the Blue Jays.
In 2005, the lefty started four games against Toronto and only got one "W" for his efforts. Toronto hit .296 against him and recorded 18 runs, all earned, in 26 innings.
With an arguably improved lineup and this being his first start, no one knows what to expect.
Trot Nixon and Coco Crisp are also out of tonight's lineup. So Wily Mo Pena and Adam Stern should replace them in right and center, respectfully.
Game time is 7 p.m. Go Sox.
