Sox beat Yankees!

The U2 song, "Beautiful Day" is stuck in my head this morning.
Yes, my beloved Sox earned a 'W' last night facing their biggest rival - the Yankees.

Spring training or not is was still a victory. I was impressed with the youngsters and the not so young making a difference in this one. For instance Joe McEwing scored and drove in a run. It will be most difficult for him to make the 25-man roster. Although versatile (he's played nearly every position), he's made too many errors and he's 35.

Yankee starter Carl Pavano is getting alot of applause for his outing. NY Daily News appreciated his effort.

I saw a different game. I saw Pavano give up two runs. I saw a Red Sox lineup making contact. The four hits allowed could have easily been six or seven had the ball hadn't been driven right at the defense.

But it isn't bad for his second outing since June '05. If he continues at this rate, the Sox will have a tough time winning the division title.

Pavano is not the only question mark, but may be the biggest.

Some other questions:
- The whole A-Rod vs. Jeter controversy. Apparently, these two superstars sill have some differences. A-Rod's 2001 Esquire interview must still sting for Jeter. In 2004, the media again reported issues; the pros denied. In 2005, there was a rumor of a actual fist fight, that no one could verify. And then in 2006, well A-Rod struggled and there were again reports of a fallout. Now, as recently as Feb. 21, the whole issue is back in the limelight. NJ.com and NorthJersey.com have articles related to the subject. Well, as much as Jeter would like the kill the story, it will plague the entire clubhouse all season. Can't we all just get along?

- Bobby Abreu is struggling with an oblique muscle strain. These injuries are always a bit tough on batters. He looks to be recovering well, but these return pretty regularly.

- Chien Ming Wang may have a wrist injury. He claims he's fine, but may have thrown too many pitches in his most most recent outing.

Oh, it's getting interesting.

Are you kidding me?

And where are the questions for the Sox? How's that bullpen shaping up? Getting ready to ride two 40 year old pitchers through the whole season? Think Dice-K (or anybody for that matter) can live up to those kinds of expectations? And are you really still talking about A-Rod & Jeter?

Please... if you're going to write about baseball, at least write something interesting.

Well said, Bobble-Ed.
Too bad 26to6 is a Yankees fan. I think he's missing the point. To be a Yankees fan is easy. To be a Sox fan is the most rewarding in all of sports. Isn't it obvious that the writer is a Sox fan, dude? I'm sure there is another blog you can read to get your Yankees slant, right?
