Get to the newstand. Quick.

Okay, it has finally arrived. Now, I'm a sucker for most fantasy publications. If my wife ever found out how much I really spend on preparation, she may file for divorce. But today, I picked up, the one true fantasy cheaters guide - USA Today's Baseball Weekly 2007 Fantasy Extra.

This has everything that you will need to get you through your draft. 28 pages of baseball analysis geared for the fantasy head. What I love the most is the commentary for every useful player.

Who should you set your sights on in '07?

Well, in the American League it's still Carl Crawford.

Oh, they do put a lot of value on SBs, don't they. But when you add his 17 or so home runs, 100 runs and 80 RBIs he is well worth the money.

In the National League and the first selection in most drafts will be Albert Pujols. What hasn't the firstbaseman done for his owners? He'll get his 40+ dingers and 120 runs and ribbies. Oh, to dream.

For pitchers - Johann Santana is far and above all pitchers. Even at $43 bucks, he'll pay off. The perennial Cy Young contender continues to shine.

In the N.L., it's Chris Carpenter. No real surprise here either. Can he keep it up?

The first Red Sox player projected to go would be, of course, David Ortiz. Can he really better his 54 home runs of a year ago? Doubtful. He has improved every year with the Sox, however. And given he hit 54 mammoth shots when missing a few games lin 2006, 60 is possible. But I'll be happy with 45 and say 130 RBIS.

For Sox pitchers, I still see Curt Schilling going before anyone else, unless the Dice-K hype takes over. Schilling is the proven pitcher. He'll do well even if he is an overweight 41 year-old. Plus he may be more motivated this year with the arrival of Matsuzaka. Schilling thrives on competition even if it is imaginary.

So who are you targeting at your draft?
