Another quiz
While most of the media is writing about Curt Schilling's 10Ks, Red Sox fans found out that Youkilis could be the fastest player in a Sox uniform.
Last night, he exhibited inside-the-park home run speed.
Of all the people in a Sox uniform, I would never have pictured Youk to be the guy to accomplish that feat.
To top it off, he didn't hit the turbo until he reached second base. He also beat the throw to home without a slide. 'm not even sure that the Indians bothered to throw to their catcher.
Quite the sight.
It's amazing what can happen when batting ahead of Ramirez. Manny never gets enough credit.

You know who's not yet getting enough credit is Youkilis himself. It doesn't seem to matter much where the guy hits in the lineup. Not since Jim Rice in 1978 (oh, sorry to mention the year, but...) have we seen a hitter get this hot. And, btw, dude is better than just solid at 1st base. Add to that the fact that when he drove that ball to center the other night, he didn't watch it for a second, he didn't trot, he ran. The turbo might've kicked in at second base, but he got there with alacrity, something Manny, for instance, would know nothing about.

Hey Ed – I was one of the privileged thousands that was actually seated in Fenway when Youk hit his in-the-park homer on Memorial Day – between the screaming fans, the dust and wind from the turbo as he rounded second, I could barely see straight. That, coupled with Trot Nixon’s anticipated return to the Park was more than enough to justify the sore throat I had for the next two days. Well worth it.
Missed you at the 20th.
