Uh-oh. Has it begun?

I'm not trying to sound pessimistic, but the Yankees have taken another game away from the Red Sox lead.
According to ABS, Yankees still believe they can make it to the playoffs.
The Sox AL East lead is now down to 9, and the Sox are 11 1/2 over the Yankees.
Ouch. I'm not too worried about the Toronto Blue Jays, they have been dealing with injuries and I can't see them recovering anytime soon; though they have won three in a row.

For the first time this season, the Sox have lost three straight.
I can understand losing to Dan Haren, he's the best pitcher in the AL right now. But Lenny DiNardo? That's embarrassing.
I saw it coming. Before the game, fortune teller Dennis Eckersley looked at his oracle and predicted DiNardo wouldn't get past the fourth.
That's when I began to worry.
Nothing against Eck, but he is not much of a seer.
Lenny "freaking" DiNardo. Who would have thought that he would put together two great back-to-back outings?
Oakland can make a pitcher out of anyone.
Tonight's offering looks no different. USAToday.com has a preview.
Since coming to Oakland from Colorado, Joe Kennedy has dropped his ERA more than a run. The parks have something to do with it, but Oakland's pitching coaches get some credit too. They've done the same with Chad Gaudin and the home-grown talent and Thursday's starter Joe Blanton are living proof.
It's interesting to note that both Gaudin and Kennedy were with Tampa Bay. Imagine the staff they could have had.
Blanton had a great start to the season, but has since returned to earth.
He's not very consistent but has been adequate.
The Sox need to get to him early.
All this and Roger's getting ready.
ESPN's Jim Caple's takes a look at Clemens' season through his "crystal ball".
Here's my prediction: Red Sox 6, Oakland 2. Big Papi hits a HR and Wakefield's knuckler baffles the weak hitting A's.
