Peoples Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race

Tom Nyariki of Kenya is all smiles as he wears the laurel wreath after winning the 9th annual TD Banknorth Beach to Beacon 10K race today. He finished with a time of 27:47.5. Alventina Ivanova of Russia set a new course record for women with a time of 31:25.7. In the wheelchair competition, Patrick Doak of Concord, Mass. also set a new course record (23:59) finishing ahead of previous record holder Tony Nogueira.
