Familar Faces

In the bottom of the eighth inning at the City of Palms Park, Jeremy West pinch-ran for Kevin Youkilis, Matt Van Der Bosch hit for David Ortiz and David Bacani walked. West scored on an RBI single by Willy Mo Pena. Van Der Bosch was plunked with a curve ball and eventually scored on Alex Ochoa's run-scoring single - Bacani drew a walk and scored during Boston’s 9-run eighth inning. It's always nice seeing some familiar names getting a chance to play in a big league game even if it’s only Spring Training.

During my travels in the Red Sox press box, I talked with Gordon Edes of the Boston Globe, who was raving about Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Bucholtz. Both top prospects could land in Portland to start the season.

The Red Sox have sold out 60 straight games at City of Palms Park

I'll have one more update after the game!
