The big buzz down at the Minor League complex this afternoon is Jon Lester and Julian Tavarez getting the starting nods for Portland and Pawtucket. At this time, it's unclear if Lester will start for the Sea Dogs or the PawSox. If Lester starts for the Sea Dogs it doesn’t mean he’ll break camp with Portland. The big league team is on the road so they generally have pitchers get their work in during the minor league games. Daisuke Matsuzaka is the only pitcher in the opening day rotation that hasn’t pitched in a minor league game. Doug Mirabelli and Willy Mo Pena will also participate in the minor league games.

Yesterday the Red Sox submitted a traveling media list for those attending today's game in Sarasota against the Reds. With Dice-K making the start for Boston, a list of nearly 75 media will make the trip from Fort Myers. Today’s game will air live in Japan at 2 a.m.

I mentioned yesterday about Aaron Bates having a tremendous spring, he's actually on the travel roster for the big league game...Good luck to him!
