Notes on Lewis:
• Promoted to Portland on July 13 from Single-A Lowell (Short Season)…Hit .217 (5-for-23) in seven games with the Spinners…First professional hit was a double on July 5 at Oneonta…Made four starts at catcher and three at DH.

• Played the past two years with the University of Texas (2006-07), hit .170, 0 HR, 4 RBI in 21 games this season with the Longhorns…Last season, he started 25 of 38 games at Texas, hitting .247, 0 HR, 11 RBI.

• Before transferring to Texas, he played two years as a catcher/infielder for the University of Texas/Arlington, aiding the Mavericks to 58 wins over those two seasons.

• Signed by the Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent in June, 2007.
