Portland and Pawtucket played at the Minnesota Twins complex on Tuesday afternoon in lovely Ft. Myers. The weather has been a "major" issue for the locals. Early this morning, it was only 55 degrees, deeming this a very cold stretch in South Florida. The high was 76 today - I think all of us on the east coast could take this in March.

The Rock Cats slipped by the Sea Dogs, 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon. Kris Johnson got the starting nod for Portland and worked five strong innings. Hunter Jones and Kyle Jackson also made appearances for the 'Dogs. Jeff Natale and John Otness had RBI base hits.

During my travels...I caught some of the Triple-A contest. Devern Hansack hurled five brillant innings, including a strikeout of Justin Morneau, who didn't travel with the Twins. Craig Hansen worked two strong innings for Pawtucket.

I met up with the voice of the PawSox Dan Hoard. He commented on our winter snow storm last year on opening day. I did get many compliments about the snowmen that were constructed on Hadlock Field.

Apparently, more roster cuts are due in the next couple of days, which will give us a good indication of the 2008 Sea Dogs.

On Wednesday Portland will travel to Sarasota (one-hour south of Ft. Myers) to take on Bowie (Baltimore's Double-A affiliate).
